The “Buzz”
WEE
ROCK! makes parent-friendly pop music for the young and the
young-at-heart.
Wee Rock! is comprised of husband and wife team Greg and Erin Paxton
based in Long Beach, California. Greg is a freelance drummer, and
Erin is a music therapist. The birth of their son, Jonathan, inspired
them
to
put
their teaching
and music skills together to make music for the hearts of children.
Greg and Erin know the many values of music for the development of
life skills and language acquisition of children, and have learned
by watching their son, that when a child sings, he SOARS!
GREG PAXTON
Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Cal
State Long Beach.
He is a freelance drummer in the Los Angeles area and is well versed
in rock, jazz and in recent years has earned a reputation as one
of the top “Caribbean” style drummers in the area.
He is a member of the Pandemonium Steel Drum Band, and with them he has been featured
on concerts with various symphony orchestras around the U.S.,
as well as a featured guest artist with Caribbean legend Ray Holman
at the Cal State system’s yearly Summer Arts program. His most
recent airplay was a recording with Supremes member, Susaye Green.
Greg’s first love is writing and recording pop songs, and he
was able to put his talents to work doing just that for the Seattle
based
Bread
Alone Project. He currently has a studio of thirty plus
students and finds that teaching is a wonderful way to give
back all
that music has given him.
ERIN PAXTON
Erin received her music degree in voice from United States International
University, where she received the Award for Excellence in Music.
Other awards include Honorable Mentions in The La Jolla Symphony
Young Artists’ Competitions, second place in the Sweet Adelines’
Competition, and special appearances on The Tonight Show.
She went on to pursue a certification in music therapy from Cal
State Northridge, and has worked with a variety of populations, focusing on the
mentally ill. Using music as a way to reach and affect people has always
interested Erin, and she uses her music in a variety of healing
applications, including her private practice.
She continues to sing and teach music to children’s groups, perform, and sing to
her son, who is her inspiration.
